Flutter Tales Story Hour and Craft
Children ages four and five come to Flutter Tales Story Hour throughout the summer with their parent or caregiver for an absolutely magical butterfly experience. Stories are chosen and read by Linda Winfield that encourage curiosity, wonder and imagination while gently helping them practice listening skills and develop fine motor skills.
As children come in to the butterfly tent for story hour, they prepare their own "butterfly carrier" by scooping out a watermelon ball to put inside a tiny plastic cup. When the butterfly lands on their carrier they can pick it up and closely see for themselves the funny polk-a-dot head and body of a monarch butterfly, its furry little back, or its curled up tongue.
Parents and children make a take home craft together to remember the week's story and time spent together.
